Panic attacks come in many different forms. Some are fleeting and pass by in a few seconds, while others can last for days. The anxiety attacks can unexpectedly creep up on us or slowly build over many hours. We often live in fear and let our condition rule our lives.
What is it we are experiencing? The symptoms can include Shortness of breath or smothering sensations, Chest pain, Palpitations and/or racing heart, Dry mouth, Sense of impending doom, Agoraphobia or social phobia, Dizziness, Fear of dying or losing consciousness and Concerns about health and constant worrying that there is 'something else' wrong. There are of course, many more symptoms but these are some of the most common ones. The panic attack symptoms are symptoms of the disorder and as such should be ignored. They have no significance or consequence to you or your life. So is there anything we can do; is there a panic attacks cure?
Treatment for your attacks often depends on the cause of your attack. If your attacks are triggered by a physical condition, they should be eliminated by treating the physical cause. If the cause is a particular anxiety or phobia, attack the anxiety or phobia. This involves one small step at a time building up to confronting the thing you fear regularly enough that it becomes almost routine.
It's important to remember the symptoms of your attacks have never harmed anyone. So don't be afraid take positive action. They may make us feel dreadful and scared but these symptoms are harmless and are simply inflated experiences of normal bodily feelings and reactions.
