St. John's Wort and Valerian have shown anti-depresor anxiolytics and sedatives properties. St. John's wort is an herb that is mainly used in the treatment of depression, however, studies indicate that it can also have an effect on the overall anxiety. Valerian is a perennial plant which may affect the ways of brain itself as antianxiety drugs like Xanax (known as benzodiazepines). When used together they can offer relief of mild anxiety and symptoms.
