Agoraphobia is a condition that manifests itself in several ways. A person suffering from the disease may experience a fear of being in crowds, open space, driving, or even simply being alone in an unfamiliar environment. Generally, however, what comes to is that the person that he is afraid of being outside its "safe area".
The reason for this is the fear of an attack of panic in a situation where you do not have access to support or help from a reliable source. The safe area of a person is usually your own home. Sometimes, however, may be in as his Office work or something similar as well.
Certainly there are different degrees of agoraphobia. Some people think that a general anxiety when it is not in the safe area, but they manage to live a relatively functional life. At the other end of the spectrum, some people are so paralysed by the fear of having a panic attack that almost never leave your secure area, even for the simplest of errands.
Regardless of the severity, the process of thought behind it is more or less the same. The person concerned if they were going to have a panic attack while that in an unknown situation; that would of them? Some patients feel comforted that any other human being is everything at any time because that means that they can get help in the case of a panic attack. Some, however, only trust a small circle of support.

By doing so they know where some confidence areas are like seasons of fire, hospitals, offices of physicians, or relatives or friends. This makes them feel more secure if they have a panic attack while in a way out because they feel they can find help in these places.
This only works, of course, for those who feel that they can rely on anyone to help them. For those who rely only on a small circle of friends or relatives, be at all is a problem because everyone that is a stranger. For these individuals agoraphobia can become really in what seems a hopeless situation.
